Teen Boy Shot Near High School In Hyattsville: Police (Developing)

A minor was shot in a Prince George's County neighborhood not far from an area high school, police say.

At around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, an alert was issued by the Hyattsville Police Department regarding a shooting of a juvenile in the 3500 block of Carnaby Street near Northwestern High School.

He was rushed to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The incident led to a temporary lockdown at the school while police investigated. His condition was not immediately available later on Friday afternoon.

More information is expected to be released during a briefing at 2 p.m. on Friday.
